The Best Personal Blender – Which One Is Right For YOU?

Your definitive guide for finding your perfect personal blender

I know:

Choosing just one model as your personal blender seems insane given the wide variety out there.

Relying solely on someone else’s opinion isn’t going to cut it either, because how personal would that be?

Since it seems a little crazy to literally go out and test every single blender out there, you’re going to have to go with something that will accommodate your individual needs while still having a great online reputation and a bunch of recommendations.

DO NOT

I repeat, DO NOT decide on a personal blender with just your budget as the main consideration.

Things to consider before investing in a personal blender:

Since I just said that price is NOT the starting point, let me tell you what is important for choosing best personal blender

Capacity is king for finding the best personal blender for you.

Don’t need to make loads of smoothies every day? No problem, single serve blenders like the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender is a great choice!

Blending Speed is Second in Line

The next thing on your “to-think-about” list should be the speed at which your personal blender gets the job done. This depends on the power of the motor, and more power output always equals faster blending speed. More power also means you can add hard ingredients like ice and nuts without second-guessing it. A great high power blender is the Ninja BL6600 Blender, with 1,000 watt output and 3 speed settings.

Ease of Use should also count

A lot of people totally overlook this aspect, but your personal blender should be easy to use, for you! You want your blender to make the job as effortless as possible. A great example of an easy to use blender is the Magic Bullet NutriBullet

Cleaning Up should measure up

This can be a real pain in the ass if you have a blender that isn’t easily cleaned, which is why investing in an easy-to-clean blender is a brilliant idea. Vitamix blenders are known for their impressive self-cleaning functions.

What Features Do The Best Personal Blenders Have In Common?

There are some aspects that set the best apart from the rest of the personal blenders. Here’s a quick insight to those features:

  • They have metal bases – plastic bases mostly equate to weak motors, less stability and slow blending speeds
  • They have different speed settings – to get the right texture, you want your blender to have at least 3 different speeds
  • They have big pitcher sizes – 40 oz. is the recommended minimum size for you blender’s pitcher if you don’t want to get stuck in a tight spot. Plastic jars are also much better than glass jars because plastic is lighter, more durable and works better for high speed rotation.
  • They come with long warranties – I say THE LONGER THE BETTER when it comes to your blender’s warranty. Burning motors due to heavy usage isn’t a rare occurrence in blenders, but this is not something you want to be panicked about.

It’s totally okay:

You might not yet get why anyone would spend more than $200 on a blender.

I mean, it’s just a blender right? Not exactly, but I’ll get you on my side eventually.

For now though, I’ll show you the best personal blenders under $200 that will get you into the game of serious smoothie making business.

The Best Personal Blender for Smoothies

1. The Best Blender Under $100

Magic Bullet NutriBullet 12-Piece High-Speed Blender/Mixer System

I love my Magic Bullet because it’s super portable and it’s the smallest of the three best mid-range blenders out there. Weighing in at a mere 3.6 pounds it’s easy to store and take along with me wherever I go.

It has a 600 watt motor (albeit it only has one speed setting) and comes with 3 cups in different sizes. I can’t use it to crush ice, but it’s great for whipping up my protein shakes and fresh juices during the day.

For its amazing price, this is the best personal blender in its class, and it works just the way I need it to!

2. The Best Blender Under $150

Ninja Professional Blender BL740

Coming in with 1100 watts of blending power, the Ninja Pro is a very good personal blender, but it’s not going to change your life forever, but it’s more versatile than the Magic Bullet I just mentioned. You get what you pay for. That’s my philosophy anyway.

I did enjoy its effortless cleaning (self-cleaning might I add) and the 3 variable speeds were great to get me to the texture I prefer.

I suppose you can’t argue with stats, and the Ninja Pro has an overall 4.5 out of 5 star rating on Amazon, which just shows that for the price, this is the best personal blender in its class.

3. The Best Blender Under $200

Oster Versa 1400-watt Blender

I really enjoyed the powerful 1400-watt power motor of the Versa plus it comes with an awesome piece of mind – a 7 year warranty! What’s really great about the Versa is that you can’t assemble it the wrong way because the blade and container cannot be removed, thus eliminating the risk of leaks.

The self-cleaning function is genius and couldn’t be easier to use, and the overload sensor and variable speed dial are both great additions to an already impressive personal blender.

It still comes in as a very affordable personal blender under $200 and almost puts out what one would expect to see from a heavy duty countertop blender.
